Cursing

I hate it when someone tells me that I shouldn’t curse. Is it their choice? NO, it’s mine and they have no right to tell me what I should or shouldn’t say. Yesterday I was hanging out with one of my friends and we were watching SNL Digital Shorts. One of the one she loves is “Natalie’s Rap” and if you’ve seen that one, it has a lot of cursing. She was watching the explicit version and she stopped in halfway through and said “I don’t think it’s funny when the curse words aren’t bleeped.” So she goes and finds the clean version of it and makes us watch that and I said, “You think this is funnier that the explicit one?” and she said, “Of course. I don’t find it funny when people use bad words. It shows that they have nothing intelligent to say so they use bad words instead.”

I almost had a hissy fit after she said that because we all know that I use curse words quite frequently, but I can manage to have an intelligent conversation with a person without using bad words. I love when people curse! Especially when they are talking about something they are extremely passionate about because it shows me that they are truly passionate about whatever they are talking about. I also love when people curse in songs. For example, “Oxford Comma”. The lyric is “Who gives a fuck about an oxford comma”. Do you think it’s be the same if they said “I don’t care about an oxford comma”? I don’t think so!

I guess the point I’m trying to get across is I hate those pretentious bastards who think cursing is a bad thing. And two words I’d like to say to the is, Fuck you.
